What do our scholars say?
"My memorable moments would be skiing down the wintry slopes of Vermont; parading along the streets of Salem, origin of the first witch hunt in my favourite vampire mask on Halloween's Night; munching on freshly broiled Maine lobsters after a shopping spree on Thanksgiving Day and watching the Millennium Ball on Times Square, NYC, on New Year's Eve. Studying overseas has been a most challenging and rewarding experience. It has widened my perspective in life. For this opportunity, I am grateful to EDB."
Ng Ying Yuan, MIT, US, Chemical Engineering
"EDB adds fuel to Singapore's economic fire and the job scope far exceeds any purely engineering-related activity. I have had the occasion to work with France’s brightest students, expand my cultural horizons and pick up new sports like mountaineering and snowboarding."
Vigneshwaran Sellakannu, Institut Seperieur D'Electronique de Paris, France, Electrical Engineering
"Besides encouraging us to pursue Masters, double degree, foreign language, EDB also provides us with meaning internship. My internship with EDB was an excellent learning experience. I was given the opportunity to intern at the EDB Shanghai office. It offered me a good overview of the business world, and provided me with invaluable professional and corporate experience."
Tan Yong Han, University of Michigan, US, Mechanical Engineering

How does the selection process work?
We shortlist our scholars through a comprehensive selection process to ensure the integrity of our scholarship programme and the best candidate is selected for . This includes interviews as well as a unique programme called Blaze Assessment Centre.
Blaze Assessment Centre is a full-day event with individual and team-based activities where candidates can demonstrate their ability to lead, adapt, and their communication and analytical skills amongst others. Our industry partners as well as members of EDB’s management observe the participants during the activities to gauge their suitability for their organisations. Candidates will then be shortlisted for the final round of interviews.
During the final round of interviews, candidates will meet with the top management of EDB. Successful candidates will be awarded the EDB-scholarship and join our family of EDB scholars.
