World-class fine art storage facility to open in Singapore in 2010

Leading art business, Christie's International, recently announced that Christie's Fine Art Storage Services (CFASS) - an independent, wholly-owned subsidiary of Christie's Group - will open a new storage facility at The Singapore FreePort in January 2010.

Located at Changi Airport, the CFASS Singapore facility, the first of its kind in Asia, will occupy about 40 per cent of the FreePort's Phase 1 floor area (approximately 22,500 sq m). The facility will offer tailored storage solutions and enhanced services catering to international collectors and institutions.

Speaking about the development, Dr Beh Swan Gin, Managing Director, Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), said, "We would like to congratulate Christie's and The Singapore Freeport on forging this strategic partnership. We are delighted that the world's leading art business has chosen Singapore to deepen its commitment to Asia. This partnership is a strong testament to Singapore's attractiveness as a high-trust location for arts businesses to meet the growing demand for fine arts and collectibles in Asia. We look forward to welcoming more art businesses and collectors to our shores."
