Carbon Conservation, a company pioneering in the development of forestry based carbon reduction projects, announces the establishment of its Global Headquarters in Singapore, to develop and manage its low carbon projects. The company has inked deals to save rain forests in Aceh province, Indonesia by offering financial incentives in the form of carbon credits to the forest owners. Such projects are being increasingly considered as an effective mechanism to curb carbon emissions and solve regional haze problems. The company has received global attention through these projects and has won numerous awards including “UN Earth Day Award”. Its CEO and founder, Dorjee Sun was named one of Time Magazine’s Heroes of the Environment in 2009. His work has also been featured in a documentary called “The Burning Season”, narrated by Hugh Jackman.
