Fokker Services Asia breaks ground for new hangar in Seletar Aerospace Park
Fokker Services Asia (FSA) held a groundbreaking ceremony on 1 December 2010 for its new Asia Pacific facility at Seletar Aerospace Park (SAP). Officiating the event was Andre Hermsen, Vice-President Finance, Fokker Services B.V., Raj Ramanujam, MD, Fokker Services Asia, and Lim Kok Kiang, Director, Transport Engineering, EDB.
The groundbreaking marked the first major project in the West Camp of SAP, and the new 80m free span hangar is expected to be ready in early 2012. Built by local property development firm Sharikat National, the facility will accommodate three regional aircraft or two large narrow-body aircraft.
Since its establishment in 1997 at Seletar Airport, FSA has built a reputation as a high-quality, flexible and reliable heavy maintenance aircraft MRO serving the Fokker and ATR customer base in the region. With the new facility, FSA will add heavy maintenance capabilities, and it anticipates doubling the volume of work through the hangar over the next five years.
