NTU opens three environment and water technologies centres
October 05, 2009
Three environment and water technologies (EWT) centres were officially opened at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). These three centres, which come under NTU’s Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) ecosystem, will collaborate with Singapore’s environmental agencies, overseas universities and industry partners on projects that address environmental and water issues, and serve to be a major resource for Singapore’s environment and water industry.
The three EWT centres are 1) Residues and Resource Reclamation Centre (R3C); 2) DHI-NTU Water & Environment Research Centre and Education Hub (DHI-NTU); and 3) Singapore Membrane Technology Centre (SMTC).
NEWRI will conduct R&D on a wide range of areas: Membranes, environmental management, biotechnology, waste management etc. Some of the companies that NEWRI has been collaborating with include Toray and Sembcorp.
