SAP launches new Future Logistics and Urban Management Research Centre in Singapore

SAP announced yesterday the opening of SAP Research Singapore and its headquarters for SAP's research efforts in APAC and Japan. A collaboration between SAP, EDB and NRF, SAP Research Singapore is the first corporate lab to be established at NRF'sCampus for Research Excellence and Technological Expertise (CREATE). The centre will focus on solutions in the areas of transportation, logistics, urban management and sustainability, and will hire around 60 research staff and up to 40 undergrads and PhD student interns with a focus on tapping the local talent pool.
Minister of State for Trade and Industry Mr Teo Ser Luck was the guest-of-honour at the ceremony, and was quoted in local media as saying 'the centre marks the latest step in Singapore's efforts to up the level of specialised technology talent’ and that ‘Singapore continues to build its reputation as a location for large vendors to host data, as well as provide to them enterprise users to test and commercialise new products and services to the world'.
