Jonathan McClory
Senior Researcher of Institute for Government
Jonathan joined the Institute for Government in February 2009. His early work at the IfG focused on governance arrangements in Whitehall departments, strategic reform of central government, and transformational change. His current research includes measuring and incorporating soft power into public diplomacy and foreign policy strategies. Working with Monocle, Jonathan designed the world's first composite index for measuring soft power. He is the author of The New Persuaders, the technical paper that outlines the methodology of the Monocle Soft Power Survey. Prior to working at the IfG, he was a Research Fellow at Policy Exchange. Jonathan graduated from the University of Michigan with a dual degree in economics and political science, and holds a MSc in International Public Policy from University College London.
