Managing Partner of Strategy and Business Development and Partner, Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. The scope of Valerie Germain's work at Heidrick & Struggles has been broad and multifunctional, including technology, finance, operations, front office, general management, legal, human resources and real estate. She has significant experience across technology and professional services, recruiting general managers and partners for established and startup ventures. A key area of focus is helping facilitate large global change programs - both turnaround and build. Prior to coming to the firm, Valerie was a partner and managing director in another search firm, where she spent 12 years providing advisory and search services to organizations in the process of major change programs. Her clients spanned many industries and included Morgan Stanley, Booz Allen, CSC, IBM, Prudential Insurance and Monsanto, as well as a host of technology companies. During this period, Valerie's work was centered around technology and operations, as well as general management and the recruitment of whole management teams predominantly for technology-based startups. Previously, Valerie ran the executive education and consulting division at Cambridge Technology Group in Boston. She was a key participant in building the company from a startup into a leading client-server systems integration firm.
