Givaudan breaks ground for new fragrance centre

| Consumer Businesses

On 09 May 2017, Givaudan broke ground on a new fragrance encapsulation centre in Singapore, which deepens the flavour and fragrance manufacturer’s investments in Asia-Pacific.

Spanning 500 square metres, the centre will contain a warehouse, cutting-edge manufacturing technology, offices and a state-of-the-art development lab.

The 15 million Swiss fran (S$21 million) facility is located on the same site as its Fragrance Creative Centre and Production Hub in the Pioneer Road area. It is expected to begin production in 2018, adding to the output capabilities of its existing facilities.

"We are thrilled to build this new capability in Asia which demonstrates our commitment to our customers in the region," said Mr Maurizio Volpi, president of Givaudan's fragrance division. He added: "The encapsulation centre will complement the Fragrance Creative Centre and Production Hub to offer our customers a seamless end-to-end delivery of the very best fragrances and technology."

The lab will employ about 10 new professionals in engineer and laboratory technician positions. Singapore is Givaudan’s regional manufacturing hub for ‘encapsulated perfumes used in fabric and personal care.”
