Medtronic Strengthens Commitment to Asia Pacific with Regional Headquarters and Establishment of Diabetes Centre of Excellence

On 31 May 2016, Medtronic, a leading player in medical technology, services and solutions, opened its new Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Singapore. The facility, which houses the Asia Pacific Service and Repair Centre of Excellence, will strengthen and support Medtronic operations across 80 locations in Asia Pacific. This will further help Medtronic deliver on the growing demand for medical products and services.

Mr Bob White, President, Asia Pacific at Medtronic said, “The opening of Medtronic regional headquarters in Singapore marks an important milestone in our growing presence in Asia Pacific. We continue to leverage our regional expertise and partnerships to reach more patients, in more places and through more ways via collaborating with new partners.”

With the opening, Medtronic signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SingHealth to develop a Centre of Excellence aimed at improving treatments and patient care across the diabetes care continuum in Southeast Asia via meaningful innovation, new approaches and collaboration.

Ms. Thien Kwee Eng, Assistant Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) congratulated Medtronic and said, “Some of today’s most pertinent healthcare challenges such as rising healthcare costs and a rapidly ageing population call for new approaches and models. With its sizeable presence in Singapore, we welcome Medtronic’s contributions in this multi-stakeholder effort to transform healthcare.”
