On 27 April 2017, a new S$130 million PepsiCo advanced beverage concentrates manufacturing plant was officially opened by the Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) Mr. S Iswaran on a 2ha site in Jurong East, Singapore. The plant, which is PepsiCo’s 4th concentrate facility in Asia, will be its first to serve a pan-Asia market.

The plant will produce and supply concentrates for over a billion people in 20 Asia-Pacific markets across the region. At the same time, it will speed up innovation of new product formulations to serve the demands of Asia Pacific consumers for healthier options.

The facility, with 90 staff, will adopt technologies to support a range of production lines that are easily modified. This flexibility will allow PepsiCo to broaden the range of categories and products that can be manufactured from Singapore to better cater to the ever-changing needs of consumers. It will serve as a Centre of Excellence for “flexible manufacturing” and spur the adoption of similar technologies in PepsiCo’s other concentrates production sites in the region.
