Earlier on 16 November 2017, Deutsche Messe and SingEx signed a partnership agreement to host the inaugural Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific – a Hannover Event in Singapore. The event is the result of a multi-agency effort that included EDB, STB, IE Singapore, SPRING and A*STAR.
The event will form part of the Hannover Messe brand, the world's leading tradeshow for industrial technology and will take place from 16 to 18 October 2018 at the Singapore Expo convention centre and exhibition. With a focus on advanced manufacturing, the event will address the needs of several industrial sectors including aerospace, biomedical, chemicals and precision engineering. It is expected to attract more than 150 exhibiting companies and 5,000 visitors as well as 500 conference participants.
As the lead agency overseeing Singapore's manufacturing efforts, EDB represented the other agencies to provide a quote in the press release.
Assistant Managing Director of EDB Mr Lim Kok Kiang said that, "We are pleased to partner with Deutsche Messe and SingEx to launch this new industrial event in Singapore. It will bring together leading manufacturers and technology providers to co-innovate and showcase the latest advanced manufacturing solutions."
He added, "Deutsche Messes decision to introduce the Hannover Messe brand in Singapore is testament to our reputation as a hub for high-value manufacturing with deep engineering and innovation capabilities. We look forward to the event and the role that it will play in increasing the vibrancy of the industrial ecosystem in Singapore and the region."
