HP reinforces contribution to Singapore’s innovation landscape with launch of Garage 2.0, first of its kind for HP in the world

Garage 2.0 will Power Next - Gen AI innovation and support startups in scaling their impact globally

This press release was issued by HP Inc.

HP today launched the Garage 2.0, an innovation platform that is the first of its kind for HP. It is designed to accelerate startup growth, spearhead AI breakthroughs, and strengthen Singapore’s position as a global innovation hub. The launch also marks HP’s 55th anniversary in Singapore and the company’s longstanding contribution in developing the local tech and innovation landscape.

The HP Garage 2.0 initiative builds on HP’s legacy of invention, modeled on the original HP Garage in Palo Alto, where the tech company was founded, and often touted as the birthplace of Silicon Valley. The enduring spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit is now reimagined for Asia, with HP launching Garage 2.0, which aims to empower AI startups to turn ideas into relevant and impactful solutions. This initiative is also part of HP’s long-term commitment and contribution to Singapore as a hub for innovation and talent.

Since opening its first manufacturing site in 1970, HP has grown hand-in-hand with Singapore’s technology journey. Over the decades, HP’s presence in Singapore has evolved into a strategic innovation hub for the company, with strong capabilities in R&D across print, personal systems, and smart manufacturing applications. HP has delivered numerous world-firsts out of Singapore, including the launch of the Smart Manufacturing Applications and Research Center (SMARC), while nurturing generations of innovators, underscoring Singapore’s role as a launchpad for global innovation.

“As we mark HP’s 55th anniversary in Singapore, we are not just celebrating HP’s past but also reaffirming our future. HP has long been part of Singapore’s innovation journey, and with Garage 2.0 we are taking a bold step forward to accelerate AI breakthroughs and nurture the technologies that will shape the future of work. This is our way of building on our legacy here while continuing to collaborate with Singapore as a strategic partner, supporting the nation as it innovates and adapts to the ever- evolving technology landscape.”

Supported by the Innovation Ecosystem

The initial Garage 2.0 cohort will be able to leverage HP’s engineering expertise, business insights, and go-to-market support, enabling them to scale their impact globally. These startups will benefit from collaborative workspaces located within HP’s Singapore campus, where they can test, refine, and scale their innovations. Beyond physical space, the platform offers direct access to HP’s experts across business and technology functions.

HP has partnered with Antler, a global early-stage venture capital firm, and a network of ecosystem partners to co-develop Garage 2.0. As part of the collaboration, Antler will establish a presence within HP’s Singapore campus, creating a dynamic hub for innovation and collaboration. Through this partnership, startups will gain access to Antler’s extensive ecosystem for ongoing capital support, access to a global network of investors and hands-on mentorship from experienced operators.

“At Antler, we believe extraordinary companies are built by founders who dare to dedicate themselves to solving the world’s hardest problems. By partnering with HP and the broader ecosystem through Garage 2.0, we are creating an innovation hub where we fuel ambition with resources: capital, mentorship, and a global network of investors, operators, and partners. Together, we are committed to ensuring that the boldest ideas have the opportunity to become the category-defining companies that change the world.”
