Southeast Asia is undergoing a significant clean energy transition, shifting from fossil fuels to renewable sources of energy. The region is poised to be the world’s fourth largest economy by 2030 with a growing population of over 660 million and a new collective GDP of US$3.6 trillion (S$4.6 trillion). This economic expansion has led to a surge in energy demand, with projections indicating a 42 per cent increase by 2030. Currently, fossil fuels account for 75 per cent of the region’s generation.
