Take ownership of a substantive research topic, conducting in-depth analysis and developing recommendations that inform senior leadership and shape Singapore's economic development landscape.

Build your edge

Grow together

Be supported by mentors who value your initiative and perspectives, offering guidance and feedback throughout your project. You will also be part of a close-knit intern community that learns together, celebrates breakthrough moments, and supports one other throughout the programme.

Fast-track your career

Interns who perform well will be considered for early interviews for EDB’s Associate Programme in the last quarter of your internship year. This gives you a head start in your career journey and puts you ahead of the general applicant pool.

Interns who perform exceptionally may also be considered for EDB's Mid-Term Scholarship.

My internship began with EDB's DISG division, studying Singapore's Web3 talent, a space I knew little about. My initial uncertainties were eased by managers who trusted me to explore ideas independently. From there, I learned to navigate ambiguity and grew in confidence. The strong mentorship and supportive batchmates motivated me to return as an Associate!

I joined EDB's Summer Internship because it offered some really exciting sustainability-related projects which aligned with my academic and personal interests.

What drew me in was the opportunity to work on a real-life market research project with the Office for Space Technology & Industry despite not having an economics (nor space!) background. In fact, I never felt like an economics degree was a requirement--what mattered more were critical thinking and effective communication skills.

Apart from offering valuable hands-on experience and insight into the work that goes behind the scene in shaping Singapore's economic future, this internship has empowered me to tackle meaningful problem statements, bring value to the team by sharing unique perspectives, and propose recommendations that could truly impact Singapore and Singaporeans.

Work at EDB isn’t just about work, it’s also about the people you meet and the goals you want to achieve.

My internship at the Resource & Carbon Division (RCD) dealt mainly with carbon emissions and the oil and gas companies. The experience was invaluable as I was asked to sit in to meetings with industry players and even visit one of their sites at Jurong Island. I also enjoyed working within and outside the team as the EDBians are always willing to share what they know and help each other. In a policy department like RCD, your recommendation may translate into policies that directly affect the industries and that was really exciting!
