My International Operations posting in Switzerland is an opportunity like no other. I’m thankful that EDB offered me this ultimate experience of living and working in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Working in a different country can sometimes be daunting, but it also forces me to step out of my comfort zone and strive to be a better version of myself every day. My world view has also broadened immensely and the breadth of work that I get to experience keeps work exciting! I have no doubt that the skills, knowledge, and experience gained from this stint will contribute greatly to building my career capital.

What keeps me going at EDB is definitely the impact that our work brings. Being at the frontline of economic development is sometimes intense, but always rewarding.

Whether it’s partnering companies to create exciting jobs, or looking further ahead to prime Singapore for future growth opportunities, there’s hardly a dull day at EDB. Beyond the economic sphere, we also play a part in supporting national priorities such as environmental sustainability and pandemic preparedness.

My experience in EDB has not been what I had imagined before I joined. It has been even better!

When I transitioned from the private sector several years ago, I was embraced by an organisation that thrived on a strong culture of growth, adaptability, and collaboration. I had the privilege to contribute meaningfully to our vision and mission through various roles and workstreams. These opportunities have given me immense professional growth and instilled in me a deep sense of purpose and fulfilment.

But the best thing about EDB to me is the people. We support each other, no matter the difficulties faced, so that we do better – be it individually or collectively – with passion and dedication.
