Launching in August 2024: Corporate Venture Launchpad 3.0

 

EDB is the catalyst for the vibrant corporate venturing community in Singapore. Since the launch of the Corporate Venture Launchpad (CVL) in 2021, we have been the trusted partner for companies to grow beyond their core businesses by building new, exciting ventures.

The latest version of CVL will expand from venture creation to feature support for another mode of corporate venturing – startup partnerships.

Who is it for?
 

The programme supports multinational companies, large local enterprises, regional family businesses and high growth companies in Singapore to drive venture creation and startup partnerships.

Delivering impactful business outcomes through startup collaborations

Participating companies will work with Venture Studio Partners to:

  • Build new ventures quickly and effectively, leading to new growth and revenue streams through creating innovative products, services and business models 
  • Establish processes and capabilities for sustained venture creation efforts

Participating companies will work with Open Innovation (OI) Partners to:

  • Collaborate with startups, leading to impactful business outcomes through co-creating or adopting innovative products, services and business models
  • Establish processes and capabilities for effective startup partnerships

Frequently Asked Questions

Corporate Venture Launchpad 3.0 will have a fixed programme budget available on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible corporates to apply. The programme will run until the budget is fully drawn down or for two years, whichever is earlier. The programme may also be extended and/or overall grant funding may be topped up, subject to further review by EDB New Ventures.

Interested corporates must submit a finalised sprint plan by 9 July 2024. For corporates interested to pursue projects after 9 July 2024, please email EDB New Ventures at new_ventures@edb.gov.sg.

Corporates interested to apply for CVL 3.0 can do so once it launches in end-August 2024. To stay up to date on CVL 3.0, we encourage corporates to register their interest early.

These are the upcoming milestones for the application process. Further details will be shared by EDB with Venture Studio and OI Partners accordingly. 

  1. Evaluation of proposals (July 2024) – Proposals submitted by Venture Studio and Open Innovation (OI) Partners for CVL 3.0 undergo evaluation.  
  2. Appointment of partners (August 2024) – Venture Studio and OI Partners to be notified by EDB New Ventures of the outcome regarding their appointment as CVL 3.0 partners.
  3. Official launch (End-August 2024) – Corporate Venture Launchpad 3.0 to launch with appointed Venture Studio and OI Partners.

This will be publicly announced during the official launch of CVL 3.0 in end-August 2024. EDB will shortlist and appoint a small group of Venture Studio and OI Partners that have best-in-class expertise, proven track records and comprehensive offerings.

EDB will regularly review the programme to improve outcomes. This may include the possibility of accepting more partners at certain junctures of the programme, depending on the needs of the programme.

Appointed Venture Studio and OI Partners are subject to a renewal exercise at the end of the first year of the programme.
