Whistleblowing Policy

 

The Whistleblowing policy aims to provide a platform for EDB officers and the public to report on observed improprieties that involve EDB officer(s) and/or business partner(s). EDB treats all allegations seriously and investigates all reports. The Investigative Committee will communicate the findings of the investigations to the Audit Committee for their necessary action.

How and What to Report

 

Please provide the following information, where possible:

  • Name(s) of person(s)/company(ies) involved;
  • Date, time and location of incident;
  • Frequency of occurrence of the incident;
  • Value of any money or assets involved;
  • Physical evidence; and
  • Any other information that may substantiate the concern.

 

Whistleblowers are strongly encouraged to provide their names and contact numbers to facilitate investigations.  To the extent feasible and permissible, EDB will keep the identity of the whistleblower confidential.

 

 

Types of Improprieties

 

Improprieties include but are not limited to the following:

 

Fraud

This generally relates to the use of deception or misrepresentation to obtain an unjust advantage.  It can also involve the theft or misappropriation of EDB’s assets.

 

Corruption

Corruption can take many forms including forgery, theft, seeking, obtaining or offering secret commissions, embezzlement, misuse of information, documents or materials acquired in the course of employment and dishonest performance of functions.
