KYEC inaugurates Singapore facility, marking a new milestone in global expansion

This press release was issued by King Yuan Electronics Co., Ltd.

King Yuan Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in semiconductor testing services, today announced the official inauguration of its new semiconductor testing facility in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. The opening marks a significant milestone in KYEC’s global expansion strategy, reinforcing the company’s resilience amid evolving semiconductor supply chain dynamics while strengthening long-term strategic partnerships with international customers.

Established through KYEC’s Singapore subsidiary, the state-of-the-art facility officially commenced operations on May 22, 2026. The plant is fully equipped with Chip Probe (CP), Final Test (FT), Burn-In (BI), and System Level Test (SLT) capabilities, primarily serving the growing demand for automotive, high-performance AI products, and 3C (Computer, Communications, and Consumer Electronics) semiconductor testing across Southeast Asia. Total investment in the project amounted to SGD 100 million (approximately NTD 2.47 billion).

The inauguration ceremony was officiated by KYEC General Manager Gauss Chang and attended by distinguished guests including Mr. Jermaine Loy, Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). Dr. Tung Chen-Yuan from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore was also present at the event. In addition, KYEC welcomed leading global IC design customers and strategic partners to celebrate this important milestone in the company’s long-term global growth strategy.

In his opening remarks, General Manager Gauss Chang noted that the rapid transformation of the global semiconductor industry—driven by advancements in AI, high-performance computing, and evolving application demands—together with geopolitical uncertainties and shifting macroeconomic conditions, has accelerated structural changes across the industry and created new opportunities for strategic expansion. In response, KYEC continues to expand its testing capacity in Taiwan while strategically investing in Singapore in 2025 to meet growing global demand, while enhancing operational flexibility and supply chain resilience. The Singapore facility not only helps mitigate risks associated with geographically concentrated semiconductor supply chains, but also enables KYEC to collaborate more closely with customers in building a diversified, cross-regional ecosystem.

Mr. Chang also expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Jermaine Loy and the Singapore government agencies for their strong support throughout the investment and construction process, which enabled the successful completion of the project. He added that the Singapore facility is well-positioned for further expansion as customer demand continues to grow. The inauguration represents a new phase in KYEC’s global footprint and is expected to contribute significantly to the company’s long-term sustainable growth.

The global semiconductor industry is currently undergoing a major AI-driven transformation, with artificial intelligence technologies increasingly integrated across the entire value chain. Supported by the Singapore government’s continued commitment to semiconductor industry development, Singapore has emerged as the leading semiconductor manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia.

As advanced semiconductor process technologies continue progressing toward the 2nm node and the future Angstrom era, alongside the rapid adoption of 3D advanced packaging technologies, semiconductor testing has become increasingly critical to ensuring product performance and reliability. As a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain, KYEC believes the successful ramp-up of its Singapore facility will generate substantial growth momentum for both the semiconductor and AI industries in the years ahead.
