The Singapore Leaders Network (SGLN) today announced new initiatives to boost support for Singaporeans preparing for global and industry leadership roles, reinforcing SGLN’s commitment to equipping Singaporeans for leadership opportunities.
The Overseas Transition Support (OTS) programme and SGLN Industry Interest Groups (SIIG) were officially launched by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong at the third anniversary celebration of the SGLN. Members of the SGLN community, including SGLN Fellowship participants, mentors, strategic partners, and the inaugural OTS cohort, were in attendance.
The Overseas Transition Support (OTS) programme, run in partnership with the Singapore Global Network (SGN), equips Singaporeans with the skills, confidence, and networks to thrive while working abroad. Targeted at locals embarking on overseas work assignments, it offers a structured, end-to-end journey with pre-departure training, in-market resources, and post-assignment reintegration. This includes curated leadership development courses, cultural intelligence insights, and access to a vibrant international professional community to empower Singaporeans to navigate complexity abroad.
The programme’s inaugural cohort attracted 60 participants from key industries such as technology, professional services, and finance, underscoring the strong demand for such dedicated support. Core to OTS is the BeyondSG module, where participants gain practical skills in cultural intelligence and global communication, hear first-hand insights from global business leaders who have navigated the challenges of working abroad, and connect with peers embarking on similar journeys overseas.
The SGLN Industry Interest Groups (SIIG) is a flagship initiative to strengthen Singapore’s leadership talent pipeline in industries such as Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing and Energy & Chemicals, with more to follow. SIIG brings together industry councils and business leaders to co-create leadership journeys aimed at addressing industry-specific leadership challenges.
SIIG equips Singaporean leaders with the skills, networks, and global exposure needed to take on senior roles and shape the future of their industries. For example, participants will work on real-world projects as part of SIIG’s Communities of Practice. Launching in November 2025, the inaugural track focuses on Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing in collaboration with the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Advisory Council (BMAC), and leading companies including Amgen, GSK, MSD, Roche, and others. A parallel track for the Energy and Chemicals industry is also underway.
OTS and SIIG are supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and form part of SGLN’s broader offerings. These include the SGLN Fellowship that was launched in 2024 as a nine-month programme for mid- to senior-level Singaporean professionals preparing for global leadership roles. Now entering its third run in January 2026, the Fellowship continues to equip Singaporeans with the mindset, network, and leadership capabilities to succeed internationally.
SGLN is also introducing the SGLN Launchpad, a six-month programme for professionals with five to ten years of experience who aspire to take on regional or global leadership roles. Responding to community needs, it provides structured leadership development at an earlier career stage and will debut in October 2025. The SGLN Global Expeditions, a series of curated international learning journeys, will be rolled out in November 2025 to expose participants to best-in-class practices across geographies and industries. This expanded suite of initiatives supports the Government’s broader efforts to strengthen Singapore’s pipeline of globally ready talent, through SGLN as a key global leadership community in Singapore.
