Food security in the region largely depends on over 70 million smallholder farmers who typically operate on less than one hectare of land and earn less than USD 2.15 per day. According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, smallholder farmers produce up to 80% of the food supply in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
By funding, nurturing, and launching innovative ideas, Thryve aims to multiply the impact across economies and the food system. From digitalizing agriculture to enhancing soil health, Thryve’s “made in Singapore” solutions can contribute to a more equitable global food system, supporting nourishing nations, sustaining livelihoods, and securing long-term prosperity. This is critical to building a thriving food future.
Activated by Yara’s global reach and over a century of agronomic expertise, Thryve leverages close relationships with smallholder farmers and the ability to operate on the ground throughout Africa and Asia.
In light of food insecurity and its adverse impact on our climate, transforming our food system is imperative, but it cannot be done alone. Collaborating across industries and sectors, Thryve aims to turn meaningful ideas into real impact, supporting thriving people, thriving farms, thriving businesses, and a thriving planet.
Thryve Innovation CoLab will inaugurate its doors on 23 May 2024, from 4 pm to 5:30 pm, at 29 Media Circle #05-01 (North Tower), One North Business Park, ALICE@Mediapolis Building.
